Alvarado Intermediate School, based in Rowland Heights, Calif., offers a range of clubs and activities. The school maintains a wide array of support programs, such as Gifted and Talented Education (GATE), English Language Learners (ELL), School-Wide Title I, Special Day Class (SDC), Resource Specialist Program (RSP) and Adaptive Physical Education (APE). Alvarado Intermediate Schools counseling program is tailored to the developmental needs of adolescent students. It also encourages college graduates through the Achievement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program and methodologies, including philosophical chair, Socratic seminar, Cornell note-taking and Costas levels of inquiry.
