Originating as a 16-van operation, Atlantic Express has become one of the largest providers of bus transportation in North America. Atlantic Express manages a fleet of more than 2,000 vehicles that operate from facilities throughout the United States in cities such as Farmingdale, N.Y. Since 1979, Atlantic has achieved a 98-percent contract renewal rate as a result of its regard for passenger safety and on-time service. In 1989, Atlantic added a coach division to its school bus company. The company s fleet of luxury European-style coach buses moves thousands of people everyday. Its vehicle configurations include four- to seven-passenger full sized sedans and wagons, lift-equipped wheelchair vans, a variety of school bus configurations and 40- to 59-passenger luxury motor coaches. Atlantic Express was founded in 1964.
