The Bethany Historical Society is located in the Stanley Downs Memorial Building, formerly the Old Town Hall (until 1977). It is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the heritage of the town. Regular meetings are held and presentations have included The History of Bethany's Roads, Tales Tombstones Tell and The Barns of Bethany. The building houses a collection of Bethanymemorabiliaand historical articles.
