Maxor National Pharmacy Services originated in 1926 as a single downtown pharmacy located in Amarillo, Texas. Its name derived from those of its founders, Howard Guy Maxfield and Samuel Orr. In 1966 Jerry H. Hodge, purchased the pharmacy and developed it into an employee-driven, national pharmacy and health care service organization with approximately 300 employees. Maxor is one of the oldest continuous pharmacy operations in the 26-county Texas panhandle. The core business divisions that comprise Maxors integrated pharmacy and health care services delivery system include Maxor Plus, which provides pharmacy benefit management services; Maxor Pharmacies, which provides retail and mail prescription services and outpatient and inpatient pharmacy management services; IVS Solutions, which provides infusion therapy and specialty injectables services; and Maxor National Pharmacy Services, which provides audit and pharmacy operations, benefit consulting, inpatient and outpatient pharmacy management, correctional health care management services and pharmacy services. Maxor National Pharmacy Services is headquartered in Amarillo, Texas.
