Relief Medical Services is located on Dempster Street just west of Niles Center Road. It is the oldest hospital staffing agency in the Chicago area, dating back to 1973. Relief Medical works with hospitals, nursing homes, and clinics. It has over 9,000 nurses in its database and a large portion of its work is done on a late call basis. Staffing needs are usually met within four hours of the initial request. Past clients include Lake Forest Hospital, University of Chicago Hospitals, and Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Lutheran Home for the Aged, Goldman Nursing Home and Ballard Nursing Center. Relief Medical Services has licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, home health aids, companions, sitters and live-ins.
