ShopRite is one of the largest retailer-owned cooperatives in the United States and is one of the largest employers in New Jersey. With one of the stores located in Palisades Park, N.J., it operates more than 190 stores in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Delaware. ShopRite is a partner and supporter of Community Food Bank of New Jersey, which donates food, services and money. Founded in 1951, it operates various companies, including Village Supermarkets, Starn s Markets, Foodarama Supermarkets, Inserra Supermarkets, Glass Gardens, Perlmart Stores and ShopRite Supermarkets. ShopRite is also one of the major sponsors of New Jersey s and Connecticut s Special Olympics Games. All ShopRite owners are members of Wakefern Food Corporation, which buys, warehouses and transports products.
