Brad Cohen, MD, FAAOS, FACS, is an orthopedist with a passion for helping you understand why your condition developed and how best to treat it. Dr. Cohen founded Aventura Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in North Miami, Florida as a full-service orthopedic center that makes it possible to achieve optimal musculoskeletal health. Aventura Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine features various in-office, high-tech diagnostic and treatment technologies, including digital X-rays and ultrasounds. Dr. Cohen also offers e-prescribing.   Dr. Cohen received his bachelor’s degree in computer science at Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, in 1992. He earned his MD at the Cincinnati School of Medicine in 1997. After a general surgery internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the State University of Stony Brook in Stony Brook, New York, Dr. Cohen completed a sports medicine fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Although he’s an expert surgeon, Dr. Cohen prefers to find nonsurgical solutions to your orthopedic injuries whenever possible. He specializes in sports medicine, as well as shoulder, knee, and elbow disorders. He also performs arthroscopic surgery as required, administers platelet-rich plasma injections, and treats a wide variety of general orthopedic problems. Dr. Cohen believes that knowledgeable patients make the best decisions about their healthcare. He explains every step of the diagnostic process and carefully explains all your treatment options. He is frank about the outcomes that each treatment choice produces and views you as an essential part of your healing process. A member of numerous medical associations, including the American College of Surgeons and American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Dr. Cohen is active in the local Miami community.
