Founded in 1995, Cascade General owns and operates the Portland Shipyard ship repair facility in Portland, Ore. The shipyard is a 60-acre, integrated facility connected to the Pacific Ocean by the Columbia-Willamette shipping channel. The company utilizes Portland Shipyard s variably sized docks, which provide spaces for servicing both large and small vessels. The company is also equipped with 17 Whirley cranes, 550,000 square feet of covered craft shops and a 200,000-barrel water-treatment plant. The company s location has enabled it to develop a strong base of clientele among cruise ships, oil runners, factory trawlers and ferries from Alaska and the North Pacific.
