Cass County Electric Cooperative is a nonprofit, customer-owned electric distribution system serving nearly 30,000 members in an eight-county area in southeastern North Dakota. Its headquarters is located in Kindred, N.D. The company has service centers in Fargo, N.D.; Valley City, N.D.; Lisbon, N.D.; and Arthur, N.D. Organized in 1937, the cooperative has nearly 5,500 miles of power lines and more than 30 substations. It employs nearly 100 people and generated revenue of approximately $50 million in 2005. The cooperative is a partner in IdeaOne Telecom Group, a competitive local exchange carrier that offers high-tech voice and data communications services to residential and commercial customers. CCEC s subsidiary, South East Rural Vision Enterprises, has divisions offering fireplaces, retail products, wireless TV, apparatus work and generator leasing.
