Lewistown Childrens Center is a child care center of SUM Child Development, which is a private, nonprofit organization that serves young children and their families. It offers its services to more than 3,000 children annually through Head Start, Early Head Start and community child care programs. The center operates over 20 preschool child care facilities, family centers and school-age child care sites in Union, Snyder, Northumberland and Mifflin counties Pennsylvania. Lewistown Childrens Center employs nearly 260 staff members and offers early care and education within a family- and community-focused environment. It also provides vouchers for child care fee assistance to low-income working parents.
