Community Action Partnership of Orange County is a nonprofit corporation that eliminates and prevents the causes and effects of poverty. It has been operational for more than 40 years and serves the low-income population of Orange County, Calif. The organization provides a variety of emergency services and capacity building programs for developing the basic knowledge and skills of poor people. Its commodity supplemental food program provides nutritious food supplements for low-income pregnant, postpartum and breast-feeding women, their infants, children up to 6 years of age and senior citizens. The organization operates a community project that promotes teenage girls from 10 to 14 years to increase their leadership skills and encourages them to participate in organized sports.
