The Department of Public Works provides for maintenance and construction of roads, bridges and storm drainage facilities in the public right-of-way throughout Weld County in Colorado. The department is organized into three divisions, including operations, engineering and administration. The operations division is responsible for maintenance of the county s roads, bridges and drainage facilities. It includes the following workgroups: trucking, mining, bridge, maintenance support, weed and pest and motor grader. The engineering division is responsible for design and administration of public improvements that occur within Weld County right-of-way. It is organized into the following functional workgroups: project management, design and traffic, development review, surveying/right-of-way acquisition, pavement management/maintenance, construction inspection/permitting, geographic information systems and bridge management. The administration division provides personnel, accounting and administrative support to the entire Public Works Department.
