The company also produces chassis components, such as jacks, couplers, brakes, slide out systems and glass applications. Its products serve the agricultural, commercial, industrial, marine, mass transit, recreational vehicle, manufactured housing, van conversion and residential markets. The private company employs more than 300 people. In 1996 Excel Industries, an automotive supplier of window and window regulator systems, acquired Atwood. In 1999, Dura Corporation, one of the world s largest independent designers and manufacturers of driver control systems acquired Excel.
