Established in 1890, the East Orange YMCA houses child care classrooms, a heated pool, a gymnasium, teen center, computer center and more. It provides various programs and events to the East Orange, Orange and Irvington Communities. Based in East Orange, N.J., it offers swimming programs, after school programs, youth sports, dance empowerment workshops, family fun days , senior aerobics and much more. Additionally, it has a number of teen programs, including activities such as games, trips and teen nights, among others. The YMCA also offers summer camp programs accredited by the American Camping Association, besides providing financial assistance to non-affording persons through its Strong Kids Campaign and Financial Assistance Fund. Partnering with the East Orange Board of Education, the YMCA provides a preschool program accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
