Formed in 1968, Eastern Kentucky Concentrated Employment Program Inc. has been an employment agency. Based in Hazard, Ky., it operates the JobSight network of workforce centers, which provides access to state/federal programs that offer employment and training assistance for job seekers as well as employers. Under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), the firm administers programs that help adults looking for work, workers who have been dislocated from their jobs and economically disadvantaged young people. Eastern Kentucky Concentrated Employment Program Inc. serves in 23 counties in the Appalachian mountains of eastern Kentucky.
