The Forsyth County Sheriffs Office provides law enforcement services. The department is a division of the government of Forsyth County, Ga. The department provides enforcement of laws and ordinances and strives to prevent crime. It operates several specialized units, including an honor guard, an ordinances and animal-control unit, a traffic specialists unit, a reserve unit, a marine patrol, a mounted patrol, a motor patrol, court security and detention units, a special weapons and tactics division, a training unit and a team dedicated to crisis negotiation. The department also sponsors neighborhood watch programs, maintains a registry of sex offenders and provides advocacy for victims of crime.
