Founded in 1962 and also known as GTU, The Graduate Theological Union is an association of seminaries and graduate schools of theology in the United States. It offers doctorate degrees to prepare students for careers in teaching and writing. The association features a library that maintains a collection of books, journals and audiovisual materials. The Graduate Theological Union also conducts various educational events. Its curriculum includes history, theology, art, religious studies and psychology. The Graduate Theological Union is accredited with the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the Association of Theological Schools. Its member schools offer various summer courses. The association is located in Berkley, Calif.
