Opened in 1999, Greensboro Academy is a member of the National Heritage Academies and serves more than 700 students in kindergarten through grade eight. The academy is charted by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. The academy organizes various field trips, competitions, and music and sports programs. It also offers gifted and talented education programs. Greensboro Academy s teachers provide classroom instruction and organize enrichment activities. The academy offers classes in English, math, science, health education, social studies and language arts. It also encourages participation in a range of sports and extracurricular programs.
