Our club is a member of the General Federation of Womens Clubs (GFWC) which was founded in 1890. It is one of the worlds oldest non-denominational, nonpartisan, womens volunteer service organizations. On the state level, we are a member of the North Carolina Federation of Womens Clubs (GFWC-NC) with approximately 8, 000 members in over 250 clubs across our state. Our affiliation with both the GFWC and GFWC-NC provides opportunities not available to an independent club. We are able to receive project ideas, encouragement, and gain knowledge and expertise from meetings and materials provided by our internal organization. The Greensboro Womans Club was founded in 1909 and like the historic home where we meet, has a rich history of community service.
