Hillsides, located in Pasadena, Calif., is a private, nonprofit treatment center for children. The center provides care, therapeutic healing, special education, family crisis intervention and childrens rights advocacy. Hillsides is an official institution of the Los Angeles Diocese of the Episcopal Church. The children in residence are referred to the center by the dependency division of the Los Angeles Superior Court. Four programs constitute the framework for treatment services. The programs comprise residential treatment, the education center, family center and advocacy. The social service and welfare center has received the Harry Sheldon Community Service Award from the city of Pasadena.
