The Iowa City Police Department's mission is to protectthe citizenswithin its jurisdiction from crime. It providesprevention, enforcement and education services in pursuit of an idealcommunity free of crime and disorder. The department employs 82 sworn and 30 non-sworn individuals and consists of two divisions, Field Operations and Administrative Services.
