The Maryland Hospital Association, also known as MHA, is an independent organization. It serves hospitals and health systems by providing leadership, advocacy, educational programs and services in Maryland. Founded in 1970, the association is affiliated with the Center for Performance Sciences, Maryland Healthcare Education Institute, Maryland Patient Safety Center and Health Policy Leadership Alliance. The Maryland Hospital Association acts as an advocate for state legislative and regulatory bodies. It handles policies related to payment, recovery audit contractors, financial technical issues, revenue cycles, and billing and collection practices. The association participates in various community events and programs. The Maryland Hospital Association s Quality Indicator Project includes clinical performance measurement, reporting and analytical solutions.
