Moulton Niguel Water District provides water and sewer services to a population of more than 160,000 in the communities of Aliso Viejo, Dana Point, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel and Mission Viejo. The water originates from the Colorado River and northern California and travels hundreds of miles because the area has no local groundwater supply. Locally elected citizens and customers who represent their neighbors govern Moulton Niguel Water District. The district was formed in 1960.
