Practical Props opened in 1990. Owner Ian Hardy had a wealth of knowledge in lighting from his years in the film industry, and decided to parlay that into retail. The company has been quite successful, even recently moving down the street from their original location due to space restrictions. Practical Props sells a huge selection of lighting instruments, including chandeliers, table lamps, floor lamps and wall sconces. Their specialty is lights and lighting parts that are nearly impossible to find. They have the connections to find these pieces, or can hand-design and create them right here in the shop. They claim that they can repair any light you bring them.
