Pediatric Cardiology is a service unit of Riley Hospital for Children, which is one of the United States largest children s outpatient care facilities, pediatric sleep disorders centers and autism treatment units. Pediatric Cardiology offers medical evaluation, medication management and surgical care services for infants and children with heart disease. It provides the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of heart and blood vessel diseases. The unit handles a range of health conditions, such as chest pain, rapid breathing, high blood pressure, fainting episodes, and heart murmurs and rhythm disturbances. It conducts electrocardiography, X-ray and blood tests to evaluate heart problems. Pediatric Cardiology additionally conducts radio-frequency ablation, exercise and electrophysiologic testing, and diagnostic and interventional heart catheterization.
