The Delray Beach Fire-Rescue Department provides fire suppression and rescue services to the city of Delray Beach, Fla. The department is a division of the city s government. It provides mitigation of and recovery from a variety of conditions that adversely threaten the safety of the public. The department s primary operations consist of confining and extinguishing various types of fires. As an extension of the department s rescue services, it also provides pre-hospital, emergency medical care. In addition, it controls spills and incidents involving hazardous materials, performs on-site safety inspections of buildings to ensure structures meet safety codes and participates in campaigns for community awareness regarding fire safety. The Delray Beach Fire-Rescue Department operates more than five stations located throughout the city.
