The Lacey Township EMS is designated Squad #23 and serves Forked River, Bamber Lake, and six miles of the Garden State Parkway. The EMS station is also a primary responder for the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station for Emergency Medical Services. The staff consists entirely of volunteers, half of whom are certified as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT's). The Lacey Township EMS generally answers about 2,000 emergency calls a year.
