Artisans' World Marketplace on South Pineapple Avenue is a non-profit store that sells fair trade products made by native peoples from all over the globe. Among the various items carried here are elephant dung paper (which is exactly what it sounds like), intricately carved "ivory" figurines made from plant matter, and all sorts of contemporary and native style jewelry and accessories. The money made from the purchase of these items goes to provide livable wages for the artisans who create them.
Elizabeth Rice Fine Art & Antiques showcases contemporary fine art in its gallery on Main Street. Specializing in authentic Biedermeier antiques, Elizabeth Rice also displays art created by such notables as James Rosenquist,Jasper Johns, Robert Motherwell, Robert Rauschenberg, Sam Francisand Helen Frankenthaler. Owner Elizabeth has a master's degree from New York University and has worked as an exhibit designer on multimillion-dollar museum renovation projects.
