Laurie L Hansen studied Classical Realism drawing and painting at Atelier LeSueur in Excelsior, MN from 1986-1991. She has always been drawn to the beauty of light and color that can be found in nature. She strives to achieve a natural feeling in her paintings in oil or watercolor. She also enjoys drawing simple portraits in pencil and charcoal. Her newest endeavor is to experiment in Contemporary Abstract painting. She likes the emotion that symbols and shapes can evoke. She has recently relocated to the Historical Ellicott City, MD area. This is a great location for artists. There is an endless amount of inspiration to be found in Maryland.
