Manayunk's Orbit Gallery, which displays contemporary crafts, fine art and design, has a history of almost 30 years. Orbit originally opened in 1981 as a smaller establishment in Philadelphia called A La Carte, which was purchased by current owner David Decca in 1984 and moved to this larger space on Main Street in 1996.
In addition to showcasing innovative original craft and art pieces, Decca and partner Sandy Sanecco have incorporated custom framing into their offerings. The gallery also participates in the annual Manayunk Arts Festival.
Decca, a member of the Manayunk Development Corporation Board of Directors, has served for almost 30 years as a jurist at various regional art and craft shows; he and Sanecca share a passion to expand the role of art in the community and to help nurture and guide young artists in their careers.
