The Hinman Dental Society of Atlanta is the driving force behind the Hinman Dental Meeting. It is the premiere dental convention of the Southern United States. The convention is open to all dental professionals from dentists to periodontists, orthodontists and dental hygienists. The convention is held once a year at the Georgia World Congress Center and Omni Hotel. The first Hinman meeting dates back to 1911, when Dr. Thomas P. Hinman gathered fellow professionals with the intention of continuing dental education.
The Atlanta Bar Association oversees the legal profession. It also acts as an advocate for attorneys and law firms. This is the largest bar association in the region.
Atlanta Metro Baptist Association provides members of the Baptist demonination an opportunity to come together to learn and grow. The AMBA offers training to church leaders and organizes events in which members of area churches can come together to serve the community.
Garden Hills Park, the centerpiece of the Garden Hills neighborhood, is a gathering place for friends and families. During summertime, the pool is full of kids, moms and dads. The community center welcomes community meetings, parties and musical events. A open field is the site of soccer games, kite flying, Frisbee and other activities. An annual highlight is the neighborhood ice cream social. The Garden Hills Neighborhood Foundation (www.ghnf.org) supports the city-owned park.
The Empire Board of Realists, Inc. is the local chapter of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers, Inc. It is a professional organization established to enhance the skills of the real estate professional. It provides continued educational opportunities and real estate affiliate memberships specializing in training and accreditation for improved industry knowledge.
