Founded in 2002, Carmen B. Pingree School for Children with Autism is operated by Valley Mental Health. It provides educational services to students and conducts and supports research for the prevention and cure of autism. The Carmen B. Pingree School for Children with Autism also works in partnership with the Autism Research Program at the University of Utah Medical Center. It focuses on teaching appropriate skills and behaviors to children with autism. The school assists families in coping with the challenges presented by autism and train teachers in following best practices and procedures. Additionally, it maintains a classroom within the Jordan School District. The Carmen B. Pingree School for Children with Autism is located in Salt Lake City.
