Founded in 1949, O & H Danish Bakery is in its third generation of family ownership. The bakery makes all of its products from scratch by hand, including its Danish Kringles, which are unique pastries with fillings that include almonds, apples, blueberries, cream cheese, chocolate, pecans and raspberries. The Kringle, which was introduced in Wisconsin in the late 1800s, is created during a labor-intense process that takes three days to produce the light, flaky crust. Other O & H products include coffee cakes and sweet rolls. O & H Danish Bakery has two locations in Racine, Wis., which is home to one of the largest Danish populations in the United States.

His strong work ethic, uncompromising dedication to quality and cleanliness, and emphasis on friendly service has proven to be the keys to Gilles success. Tom passed these practices down to his son, Jim, who began working at the stand at age 10. In 1992, Jim took over the business and continues to run the drive-in much like in the 50s. Carhops continue to serve patrons with a smile, and cooks prepare the highest quality burgers and sundaes quickly in the kitchen. Hard work and family values continue to fuel Gilles today!
