Tom Raley opened his first Raleys store in Placerville, Calif., in 1935. Raleys is a privately owned supermarket chain that offers a variety of ready-to-eat food products, meals and services. It features cheese and broccoli soups, roasted turkey breasts, deli meat and salads, pizzas, grilled chicken breasts and smoked ham. The company also offers garlic chicken, sandwiches, cream pies, bagels, cakes and cinnamon rolls. It provides online recipes for various food items, including creamy cheese sauce, grilled chicken, bacon cheeseburgers, bean salad, wrapped apple slices and melon coladas. In addition, many of the companys stores have pharmacy care centers with pharmacists who provide drug information and consultation services. It supports Food For Families, which is a nonprofit program that donates dry groceries to several food banks throughout Northern California, Nevada and New Mexico. The company also sponsors various racing programs. It offers a Quality of Life card that supports schools and youth educational organizations. Raleys maintains a store in Santa Rosa, Calif.
