Maggie's Pastry is a bakery located within a small stripmall near downtown North Hollywood. Though the bakery is small, the powerful smell of freshly-baked treats and goodies arises upon entry. Display cases line both sides of the bakery, filled with everything from scones to cupcakes to pastries and more. It even offers freshly-made chocolates. The employees are kind and service is fast, with items able to be boxed up to go in large or small quantities. The shop is open seven days per week and accepts all major credit cards. Parking is free on site, too.

The Summer Canteen Restaurant is located at one of the busiest intersections in town so it's easy to stop in for a quick delicious bite of food to take out or dine in. It's located in the modern shopping center opposite the Chase Bank. The menu is eclectic fun Asian cuisine, specifically Vietnam and Thailand. It has Thai curries and wonderful soupy pho broths from Vietnam in either beef, chicken or pure vegetable. There are a few communal tables that can seat different parties of strangers who share the space, or for the private booking of party or business function. The music is hip, young and loud which is a big art of the fun. It's a great spot for a Saturday night date or night on the town. The space is a clean, modern open space with tall ceilings and an open kitchen where you can see and hear the crackling of the cooking woks.
