The office of the Georgia Conservancy is located in the historic Biltmore building in Midtown along Georgia Tech's "Technology Square." The non-profit advocates for protecting Georgia's natural resources through conservation, management and public policy. The waiting room of the bare-bones office is small and an appointment is advised.
Located at Holiday Marina and headquartered in Buford, this is one of four schools operated by the Lanier Sailing Academy. Students begin their boating education aboard Capri 22's, offering a large open environment to learn. Each boat has no more than three students to ensure that each gets individualized attention and receives over 20 hours hands on training. Once students graduate the program they become eligible to join the Passport Sailing Club and use the facility's boats. The school also offers coastal navigation classes.
