Community Action of Southern Kentucky is a public non-profit 501 corporation. Federal, state and local government funding, private contributions and user fees enable its agency to provide a comprehensive range of human services to residents in the Barren River area. Community Action is governed by a board of directors, representing elected officials, community representatives and low-income citizens and advocates. The board establishes policy and approves operating budgets. An executive director implements policy and manages personnel and programs. Professional and dedicated support staffs are assigned to the various programs in each county. With a budget and assets more than $10 million, Community Action maintains more than 40 program facilities in the 10-county area.
