Economic Development Corporation of Manitowoc County ( EDC ) is seeking an Executive Director ( ED ) to lead and manage the organization, responsible for the establishment and coordination of comprehensive economic development efforts in Manitowoc County. The ED must be skilled in all aspects of running an economic development organization, and will work with the Board of Directors in establishing, implementing and maintaining policies/procedures to achieve the overall mission of the EDC while developing networks/partnerships with private and public stakeholders.Key responsibilities include facilitating business start-up and job retention, expansion, and attraction in commercial/industrial sectors ; initiate and complete business development projects ; lead fundraising efforts ; seek out and administer grants and other financial incentives ; manage the organization and staff ; and promote continued public/private sector real estate development.The successful candidate will have a track record of proven success and understanding of redevelopment and municipal government operations ; knowledge/experience in real estate, finance, law, government, media relations, marketing, and general business matters as well as possess a strong public presence. A bachelors degree is required and professional certification and/or further economic development accreditation ( CEcD, EDFP ) is highly desired.
