Services include support groups, emergency food and clothing, individual and group counseling, volunteer opportunities, referral to local and county agencies, job retention support, crisis intervention, workshops and classes and community advocacy.

I Heart IB is a group formed by longtime Imperial Beach residents dedicated to providing support for local issues, causes and events. Examples of work the group has done include fundraising for the Big Bay Boom fireworks show, supporting little league fields and skate parks and helping organize tributes for fallen soldiers from the area. The group works on a variety of projects and always welcomes suggestions, ideas and comments.

Southwest Wetlands Interpretive Association is a non-profit organization started 30 years ago by environmental activists to support wetlands projects and preservation across San Diego's South Bay. It currently sponsors a campaign to eliminate non-native plants from local wetlands and also partners with the Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve.

This non-profit organization supports beautification projects and improving public spaces. It currently assists the city public works department and organizes and sponsors the Farmers' Market at Pier Plaza every Friday from 2pm to 7:30pm. Volunteers are always needed. New members and volunteer meetings are held every Monday from 6:30pm to 8pm at the Imperial Beach Adult Education Center at 170 Palm Avenue, Room 210. The board of directors meets every fourth Monday of the month.

The Chamber's goal is to communicate the concerns and priorities of Imperial Beach businesses and help them promote, prosper and grow.

Board of directors meet the second Wednesday of the month 5-6 p.m. Location varies so call for details.

Monthly breakfast mixers are held the fourth Thursday at 7:15am at the Dempsey Holder Center on the second floor of the lifeguard station at 950 Ocean Lane.

The Chamber is also the principal sponsor of the Imperial Beach Business Improvement District who meet the first Tuesday of each month 3-4p.m. Location varies so call for the location. Open to the public.

The Chamber sponsors a number of year-round events, including monthly concerts, beachfront BBQs and a triathalon in the summer.

Membership benefits include plans to promote your business and discounts at other Chamber businesses.

Wildcoast is a nonprofit international organization working for cleaner shorelines and the preservation of ecosystems in the United States and Mexico. The organization hosts the Dempsey Holder Memorial surf contest each year to raise funds and to inform the public about causes it supports. Awareness campaigns and volunteering opportunities are held regularly throughout the year. The organization recently purchased 20 miles of coastline for preservation in the Valles de los Cirios region of central Baja California.

Imperial Beach Certified Farmers Market features organic fruits and vegetables, fresh food, arts and crafts and other items for sale by 20 or more vendors. 

The market is open every Friday afternoon at Pier Plaza and is organized and sponsored by the non-profit I.B. Beautiful.

12-6 p.m. October to March and 12-7:30 p.m.
