Fraternal Order of Eagles is a charitable organization The Eagles are hometown builders, supporting police, firefighters, and others who protect and serve. Eagles fund medical research in areas such as spinal cord injuries, kidney disease, diabetes and Alzheimer's Disease.
Aerie #418 meets on the second Tuesday of each month. The facility is available for private party rentals.
Pets in Need is a non-profit adoption shelter for dogs and cats. It was founded in 1965 both as a place to educate people about pet care and to help lost pets get home. As a no-kill shelter, no animal suitable for re-homing is ever put to death at Pets in Need. The shelter is 100% donation-based.
The Salvation Army offers a wide range of services that help individuals and families in the community. Offerings include disaster services, emergency assistance and family counseling.
Located next door, The Worship Center offers Christian education, men's ministries, music and arts programs, women's ministries, children/teen programs, Sunday school, youth ministries, character building programs and residential camping activities.
Until recently they also accepted donations at this site. However, donations has moved to 1270 Marshall Street where there is a Salvation Army truck located for donation drop off.
Redwood City Child Development Center is a non-profit organization offering child care services for kids ages one to five. It is funded by the California State Department of Education and features a curriculum designed to foster the social and academic development of kids through group and individual learning opportunities.
Established in 1975, the Catholic Worker House of Redwood City serves the needs of the homeless and hungry in the local community. It also has a program in place for teenagers, a breakfast program for day laborers and classes for immigrant women to learn English. The services are free and all work is done by volunteers.
The Redwood City Elks Lodge is a member of the larger organization, the Protective Order of Elks (BPOE), that strives to give back to the community.

Covering over 30 acres in the Emerald Hills area of the city, the Lodge includes a nine-hole par 3 golf course. Facilities include a 25-meter heated pool, tennis courts, exercise room and saunas. Banquet facilities can accommodate groups from 50 to 300 people.
Established in 1966, WestEd is a nonprofit agency working to improve learning for children and adults. It develops research-based programs, intervention strategies and other education resources, working at the local, state and federal level. Its Redwood City office is located on Seaport Court at the Redwood City marina.
This nonprofit organization provides rehabilitative services to inmates and former inmates of San Mateo County jails, and to their families. Help is offered for substance abuse in two sober-living houses, one each for women and men. Other services include transitional housing for people on their release from custody, and spiritual and personal counseling for inmates about to be released. The office is located across the street from the former county courthouse, now the San Mateo County History Museum.
Established in 1979, Friends For Youth offers mentoring services to at-risk children aged eight to 17. It helps to support their education and to motivate them. The youth are referred by teachers, counselors or youth service experts. Contact to learn more about becoming a mentor.
The San Mateo County Dental Society is composed of a group of dental professionals who seek to improve the conditions of their field. The organization provides its members with opportunities at local, state and national levels to participate in activities and develop skills.
Project Sentinel is a nonprofit agency that assists people with housing problems. In the complicated housing market, when discrimination based on socioeconomic status, race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, age, gender or other physical characteristics arises, Project Sentinel provides legal advice to those who feel they have been discriminated against.
Counseling services are also available to tenants as well as landlords. Mediation can take place should both parties wish to resolve an issue.
The Redwood City Office is Project Sentinel's administrative center, housing the executive director, controller, Fair Housing director and staff executing federal and state programs. Redwood City serves as the lead office for the agency's Fair Housing programs, setting policy and orchestrating activities.
In Redwood City, The Legacy Foundation merged with Youth and Family Enrichment Services in July 2007. It provides social services for minorities, low-income families and children. The foundation assists those who have difficult obstacles ahead of them and don't have the proper support or resources to get through them. Check out the website for more information.
B.O.K. Ranch provides private and small group horseback riding programs as therapy for children, teens and adults with special needs. These programs teach participants physical, interpersonal and social skills, as they interact with trainers, other students and the horses. Programs for veterans are also available. The Ranch has more than 10 horses, including two rescued miniature horses for childrens' rides. Donations, horse sponsorships and volunteers are always welcome.
