The St. Mary's Outreach Center is a program of the Diocese of Maryland. It offers a variety of services to seniors throughout the community. Services offered include helping residents with food, clothing, housing, transportation, legal and medical matters, including Medicare and more. It also offers educational, social and recreational programs. The St. Mary's Outreach Center is in what was the St. Mary's Episcopal Church.
The Maryland SPCA is a nonprofit that provides services for animals in North Baltimore. The center runs an adoption center as well as spay and neuter clinics. It also offers several behavioral classes for dogs.
The Maryland Society for Sight's mission is "to prevent blindness and preserve sight for Marylanders." It seeks to educate the general public on issues related to blindness and sight, improve existing laws to better serve the visual well-being of Maryland citizens, a better institution for reasons of prevention and generally mitigate the causes of blindness. They sponsor programs and events to make advances related to all such issues.
Wide Angle Youth Media is located just off of North Howard Street. This non-profit organization provides local teens with the opportunity to explore media education and share their personal stories through their community. The organization also sponsors the annual Youth Media Festival, with various themes such as "Who Are You?", in which students share their strategies for overcoming stereotypes.
