Knights of Columbus St. Lawrence is named after the St. Lawrence church and school next door. The organization is a member of the National Knights of Columbus Association, which was founded in 1882 to promote charity, unity and fraternity. Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic Fraternal Service Organization. There are currently more than 1.8 million members in 15,000 councils across the world.
Groves-Walker American Legion Post #346 is a Fraternal Organization of Veterans and a vital member of the Farmington and Farmington Hills community. Each year, the post organizes the Memorial Day parade and ceremony in Memorial Park, as well as a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony in downtown Farmington. The post sends more boys to the annual Boys State event every year than any other post in Michigan, and it also offers Girls State through the Post Auxiliary. The post sponsors a Boy Scout troop, is active in Legion Baseball and has a golf team.
The Humane Society of Macomb is a non-profit, private organization dedicated to caring for unwanted and abused animals in a humane manner. Rescued animals that are available for adoption can be visited Monday through Saturday. The shelter opened in 1967 and has been educating the public on how to properly care for animals ever since.
The Fort Dearborn Post 364 is the American Legion veteran's center. A calendar of post events for veterans and the community can be viewed on the website. Bob Korenchuk is the commander here.
The Fenton Goodwill is a second-hand thrift shop. It offers various apparel and household accessories and appliances. Goodwill was established in order to promote job opportunities within its communities. This location is managed by Linda Jerrold.
The Michigan Humane Society of Rochester Hills is a pet adoption center and veterinary clinic. This facility is one of four centers that the Michigan Humane Society built to help care for and provide resources for Michigan's 100,000+ homeless pets. The Rochester Hills is the only MHS facility that includes a Wildlife Department. The Rochester Hills adoption center is open every weekday, no appointment necessary, to view the animals.
The Knights of Columbus Council 1802 has been active in Wyandotte since 1915. The Knights of Columbus is a fraternal benefit society, upholding its founding values of charity, unity and fraternity. Council 1802, like all Knights of Columbus councils, is comprised of Catholic men ages 18 and older. It participates in charity work and community events. Meetings are at a new location, 3530 Biddle Ave.
