Skippy's Egg Store is known for its fresh, organic, local eggs that are cheaper here than at Petaluma supermarkets because they come straight from the farm to Skippy's. It has a variety of eggs, some coming from chickens that have lived cage-free lives on solely vegetarian diets. Skippy's sells small cartons and large, 30-racks of discounted eggs. It also carries spices, cheese, milk and useful kitchen and restaurant ware.

This local cheese company has been producing Estate Cheese since 1913.  Larry Peter, a dairy man and the new owner of Spring Hill Jersey Cheese Company, is keeping alive the premium cheese making tradition of Sonoma County. The company has reopened the Creamery's store where it sells approximately 25 varieties of local artisan cheeses and imported cheeses, along with holiday gift packs, old-fashion milk shakes, fresh coffee and breads from nearby Lombardi's Bakery. Visit the store on Western Avenue, next to the historic Petaluma Creamery or you can also place orders online.

Situated just off Valley Ford Road, DeBernardi Dairy is a local dairy with a little extra — it also produces its own cheese, a raw-milk hard cheese marketed under the name Two Rock Valley. It's sold in a young version and in one that's aged for more than 12 months. Both are modeled after cheeses from the owner's Swiss-Italian homeland. The aged version is dryer, sharper, and perfect for grating. The younger version has a nutty flavor, similar to that of a Swiss cheese. Both are priced at $15 per pound. You can purchase the Two Rock Valley cheeses at various farmers' markets throughout Sonoma County.
