Battle Creek Farmers Cooperative is a locally-owned farm supply and marketing cooperative established in Battle Creek, Neb., as a creamery in 1929. The company is controlled by more than 900 agricultural producers throughout a seven-county area in northeast Nebraska and has a base of more than 5,000 customers. The grain department is the marketing unit of the company, which offers marketing options to producers and services, such as drying, storage and custom weighing. The majority of the grain is marketed to domestic users in corn and soybean processing, cattle feedlots and egg production in eastern Nebraska. The agronomy division provides soil nutrient inputs, pest-control products and seed. Crop production specialists coordinate the warehousing, delivery, custom application, equipment rental and provide computerized services, such as soil testing. The energy division provides the energy input side for agricultural producers and their communities, such as gasoline, diesel, kerosene, lubricants and propane.
