The Children s Institute is dedicated to providing high quality, effective and efficient care to patients with a range of diagnoses and injuries. Its goal is to enable children and young adults with special needs to realize their fullest potential. The Children s Institute manages a 22-bed inpatient pediatric unit and a 17-bed inpatient unit for its Prader-Willi Syndrome/Behavioral Disorders Programs. Outpatient programs and The Day School, which serves 224 children with neurological impairment and/or cerebral palsy, are also housed in this main facility. Project Star, a permanency-planning agency for children with special needs, is located at its Trenton Avenue office building in Wilkinsburg. In addition to the main building, the institute maintains the Marie Reinhardt Heasley House, a guesthouse that provides overnight accommodations to families who visit relatives at The Children s Institute.

Childs Way is a pediatric extended care center that provides skilled nursing and child development services to medically fragile children from birth to 8 years.
