The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is located in the heart of historic downtown Montrose. Coffee Bean originated in California in 1963 and, in addition to coffee and tea, sells baked goods, cookies and breakfast sandwiches.
Representing the chain side of the industry amid the fierce fresh-brewed competition up and down Second Street, the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf has planted its flag at the corner of Argonne Avenue. The flavors here range from standard favorites to intriguing, lesser-known coffees, teas and blends from all over the world. Take-home packages of coffee and tea are available for home brewers. Iced drinks are a large part of The Coffee Bean's menu. Some are fruity, while others have a coffee or tea base. If a group's supply is in order, the 96-ounce Java to Go serves eight to 12.
This Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is located on the ground floor of the Sunset Media Tower Building on the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Argyle Avenue. Close to Amoeba Music and the Palladium, its cozy interior of honey-colored oak and leaded glass makes for a pleasant place to hang out. There's plenty of outdoor seating in the front and along the side of the building with free Wi-Fi. Its ambience is nice and low-key with a friendly staff, consistently great coffee, and delicious baked goods. One hour of free parking in the building is available with validation.
