Established in 1892 as a volunteer group, the Redondo Beach Fire Department is currently led by Fire Chief Dan Madrigal. Chief Madrigal is supported by three Division Chiefs: Operation Chief Frank Mead; Fire Marshal Carl Whitaker; Special Services and Disaster Preparedness Steve Hyink.
The Department's mission is "Serving the community by protecting life, property, and the environment through prevention, education and emergency services."
Fire Station One: Located at 401 S. Broadway, it is the headquarters station for Fire Administration and the Fire Prevention Bureau.
Fire Station Two: Located at 2400 Grant Ave., this station services as a backup Communications & Emergency Dispatch Center for both Fire and Police services.
Fire Station Three: Located at the entrance of the King Harbor Marina, it serves as headquarters for the Harbor Patrol Division.
Elected by the residents of Redondo Beach, the mayor and the council formulate policy, enact laws, promote community interests and implement programs and services than improve the quality of life in Redondo Beach.
Reelected in 2009, Mayor Mike Gin is currently serving his second term as the 28th mayor of Redondo Beach.

The Mayor and Council also sit as members of the Redevelopment Agency, Parking Authority, Public Financing Authority and Housing Authority. Council meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month beginning at 6 p.m. (closed session begins at 5 p.m.) in the Council Chambers at 415 Diamond St. (Calendar).
The City Manager's Office works with all of the city departments to ensure responsible fiscal management, continuous organizational development and process improvement, and appropriate organizational response to current events. The Office's numerous responsibilities include: overseeing the strategic plan, city budget, capital improvement and performance measurement programs; monitoring federal and state legislative activities and providing policy recommendations to Council; overseeing cable television franchise and coordinating telecommunications facilities agreements; and implementing the E-government Strategic Plan to insure rapid and efficient deployment of online government services.
City Manager Bill Workman has served Redondo Beach since 2005. He has worked in the public management field for over 30 years and demonstrated his exceptional expertise in pubic finance & building, organizational development, environmental protection, economic development and strategic planning.
Led by Eleanor Manzano, the City Clerk's Office compiles and maintains original city records, conducts elections, processes passport applications, City Council Agenda preparation, Minutes, Municipal Code and Charter maintenance and distribution; commission/committee recruitments and activities. The office also supports the U.S. Census Bureau to conduct the 2010 U.S. Census in Redondo Beach.
This tennis facility directly behind the Alta Vista Community Center features eight full-sized lit tennis courts and two regulation-sized indoor racquetball courts. In order to play at the courts, sign up to become a member of the Community Center. Annual fees are only $12 and the courts are priced per hour.
Dedicated in 1962, the Redondo Beach City Hall is located in the Civic Center on Diamond Street, which also houses Redondo Beach Police Department and the Main Library. Its services include: Mayor & City Council; City Manager; City Attorney; City Clerk; City Treasurer; Animal Control; Building & Safety; Code Enforcement; Engineering; Harbor; Human Resources; Information Technology; Parking Enforcement; Planning; Purchasing; Transit / The WAVE.
