The Orland Hills Building Department plans and carries out building and construction projects for the village, as dictated by the board. The building commissioner manages the department, scheduling personnel and equipment for the various jobs, and is responsible for all efforts to stay compliant within building codes. The commissioner also coordinates flood and environmental controls, as well as storm water management.

The Tinley Park-Park District maintains 39 parks, 30 ball fields and several facilities. The district is located in the village of Tinley Park, Ill., a southwest suburb of Chicago. Tinley Park-Park District is just 30 minutes southwest of downtown Chicago. The district s premier facility is the Tony Bettenhausen Recreation Center, which provides amenities, such as an indoor playground, indoor jogging and walking track, as well as a gymnasium with three basketball courts and six volleyball courts. The facility also provides room rentals, program rooms, an arts and crafts room, teen and senior drop-in center, museum and teaching kitchen. The district also operates the Tinley Park-Park District Fitness Center, Landmark Museum & Church, McCarthy Recreation Building, McCarthy Miniature Golf, Vogt Visual Arts Center, Extreme Skate Park and White Water Canyon Water Park.
