Scio Township was founded in 1835 and is currently home to 5,759 people and 6,070 households, with 4,425 families residing in the township as of the 2000 census. The Township Council meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 7pm. The Planning Commission meets the second and fourth Monday of each month at 7:30pm. The Zoning Board of Appeals meets the third Thursday of each month at 7pm.
