Peabody Auditorium For 60 years the Peabody Auditorium has led the way as a venue where stars of the world of entertainment and the arts have attracted audiences numbered in the tens of thousands. Named in honor of benefactor Simon J. Peabody, who donated the land where the auditorium was built, the new Peabody Auditorium was dedicated October 6, 1949 with a concert featuring the United States Navy Band. In the 60 years since, the Peabody stage has been honored by the likes of Liberace, Red Skelton, Liza Minelli, Shirley MacLaine, Elvis Presley, Tony Bennett, James Taylor, Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops, Margo Fonteyn, Rudolf Nuryev, Tom Jones, Louie Armstrong, Jackie Mason, Itzhak Perlman, Gregory Peck, Frank Sinatra, Simon & Garfunkel, Willie Nelson, Jerry Seinfeld, Al Hirt, Sammy Davis Jr., Engelbert Humperdinck, David Copperfield and Dave Brubeck. Acclaimed Broadway musicals and touring productions including CATS, A Chorus Line, 42nd Street, Chicago, STOMP, Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Riverdance have also graced the stage. The world-renowned London Symphony Orchestra began its ongoing love affair with the Auditorium 33 years ago, and the Daytona Beach Symphony Society has made the Peabody Auditorium its home for the last 57 years. The generosity and dedication of our patrons and supporters have helped make possible the past 60 years of amazing performances. If you are not a member, what are you waiting for? The Daytona Beach Bandshell, sometimes referred to by locals as the Coquina Bandshell because it is made of Coquina, is an open-air, oceanfront amphitheater on Daytona Beach. This historic venue hosts concerts, cultural events and community gatherings.

Where to park when visiting Daytona Beach Bandshell
There are several parking options including street parking and privately owned parking lots ($10 and up for a full day of parking).

There is a privately owned parking lot on Ocean Ave.

The Peabody Auditorium Parking lot is on Wild Olive Avenue, near Main Street, and usually accepts cash and credit card.

Ocean Walk Parking Garage is a multi-level parking garage that provides a walking bridge across A1A to connecting Ocean Walk Shoppes. You can take this route to walk to the Daytona Beach Bandshell if you choose this parking option.

Best and worst times to go to Daytona Beach Bandshell
Daytona Beach hosts many themed events throughout the year. Traffic can be especially heavy during Bike week, Race week and Biketoberfest each year. Dates are usually posted on the events page of the official website for the City of Daytona Beach.

Most concerts and events are free. However, there may be an occasional charge for admission. This information will usually be posted on the official Daytona Beach Bandshell website.

Must see/do at Daytona Beach Bandshell
A few steps east will put you on the world's most famous beach. The Daytona Beach Bandshell is located at the north end of Daytona Beach Boardwalk. Take a stroll down the Boardwalk to find eateries, rides, video gaming, gift shops and family entertainment, as well as the Daytona Beach Pier.

Other places to visit near Daytona Beach Bandshell
Ocean Walk Shoppes offers several restaurants including Johnny Rockets, Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, Coldstone Creamery and a movie theater. Adjacent to the parking garage is Daytona Lagoon. It features an arcade, go-karts, a rock wall and a water park.

Insider tips for visitors to Daytona Beach Bandshell
There are no restrooms at the actual bandshell site, although sometimes portable toilets are brought in. Public restrooms are available at Ocean Walk Shoppes.

Chair rentals are usually available for scheduled events.

Daytona Beach Bandshell may be secured for private events such as weddings and parties by contacting Cultural Services Division at Daytona Beach City Hall. The venue can accommodate up to 5,000.
